Kirby has been in Fremont for a lifetime, as a resident, employee, employer, and playmate. She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. When it comes to Fremont, she likes to say she's full of it!

Come Help Build A Parade!

Come help build the 2012 Solstice Parade, with the Fremont Arts Council, at the Powerhouse (3940 Fremont Ave N.) Workshops take place frequently over the next month, although the studio is open every day and anyone can show up and lend a hand. The Powerhouse studio hours just now are 6p – 9p on weeknights, 9a – 6p on weekends. Remember, the best way to enjoy this parade is to be in the parade – at Noon on Saturday, June 16th.

Snow Leopards, Tigers & Music At The Zoo, Oh My!

Plenty to experience through the Woodland Park Zoo, right now and all summer long… From the birth of three snow leopard cubs, to the fundraising deadline for the new endangered tiger and sloth bear exhibit, and finally, the line-up for this summer’s Zoo Tunes concert series.

‘We The People Power’ Festival Weekly Work Parties Announced

The ‘We The People Power’ Festival, on June 16th at Gas Works Park from 1p – 7p, will harness and celebrate the power of community. A series of fun-filled work parties, preparing the games, art and projects to be shared at the festival, will give everyone a chance to enjoy people-power in advance. Every Thursday, leading up to June 16th, at the Fremont Abbey Arts Center, downstairs, organizers will gather to build the festival, with orientations taking place at 6:15p for those curious to know more.

Artsy Antics Abound at 2012 Fremont Fair

Lots of things to see and do at the 2012 Fremont Fair – for free! Consider enticing friends, family and customers to come for a visit, and a stroll through the fairgrounds June 15th – 17th for arts & crafts shopping, the Fremont Abbey Arts for All area, the Seattle Art Car Blowout, the Solstice Parade, yoga, and the Daddy’s Day Dog Walk.

Special Date for Next FNC Meeting – May 21st

Due to the Memorial Day holiday, the monthly Fremont Neighborhood Council (FNC) meeting has been moved forward to Monday, May 21st at 7p. The meeting will be held in the same location – the Doric Lodge #92 – and will, as always, provide information and a forum for residents of the Fremont area.

Opening Weekend for building the 2012 Solstice Parade!

This weekend officially launches the Solstice Parade season, with plenty of ways to plug into the parade and participate in the merriment and magic of the 2012 Solstice. The Fremont Arts Council (FAC) legendary celebration may be fun to watch, but participating intensifies the experience – and makes for memories among friends or families that last a lifetime.
