Kirby has been in Fremont for a lifetime, as a resident, employee, employer, and playmate. She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. When it comes to Fremont, she likes to say she's full of it!

A Dance Concert For a Slave-Free World, This Weekend!

On Friday, April 15th and Saturday, April 16th, at 7:30p, turn out to support efforts to fight human trafficking – and enjoy a show of artistic beauty and stunning talent at the same time. At the Fremont Abbey Arts Center, in the Grand Hall, the Karin Stevens Dance company and the rock band JUBILEE will perform together on a show called The New Abolitionist Movement: A Dance Concert For A Slave-Free World.

Step Into Stone Soup For More XX Fun!

Week two, April 14 – 17, 2011, of the Stone Soup Theatre Double (XX) Play Fest continues strong, with plenty to witness, experience and enjoy. This week features a new selection of short works written by female playwrights, directed by female directors and performed by some of Seattle’s finest, underexposed talents. Also this week, check out the outrageous 24-Hour All-Female Play Production marathon, where three playwrights write three plays overnight, and then three directors and 9 actors stage the works.

Key Bank Gives $1000 to B.F. Day

On Saturday, April 9th, the newly opened Fremont Branch of Key Bank welcomed a number of celebrities and community folk. Key Branch Manager for Fremont, Samira Salchic, presented Principal McCloskey with a $1,000 check for our local elementary school, B.F. Day.

The annual Fremont Arts Council (FAC) Rummage Sale will be open for business from 9a – 4p each day, at the Powerhouse (3940 Fremont Ave N,) selling a great variety of donated items from local artists, organizations and other fabulous Fremonsters.

Tour Guides For Fremont Sought

During the summer of 2011, a new, playful walking tour will stroll the sidewalks of Fremont providing a humorous, and slightly hysterical, history of the ‘hood. The Double (XX) Fest Hits Stone Soup This Week

Stone Soup Theatre has an incredible opportunity going on over the next three weeks, April 7th – 24th, for lovers of live theater as well as those simply looking to see new talent or find an entertaining way to pass time. The Double (XX) Play Fest kicks-off this weekend with performances of 11 short plays written by, and directed by, women.
