Fremont Place Traffic Disruption Coming Soon

Starting as early as April 4th, Fremont Place may be reduced to one-lane of traffic (westbound) while Seattle Public Utilities does important work taking core samples, drilling 6-inch diameter holes up to 170 feet deep, intended to influence the design of the elongated storage tank being built for the Seattle Combined Sewage Overflow.

Last Wednesday, March 16th, the Fremont Chamber of Commerce (FCC) hosted an informational meeting on steps businesses could take towards greener practices, without spending their green. The meeting featured representatives from the City and King County, along with representation from one local business (Green Cleaning Seattle) taking massive steps to save the earth, and enhance their business for employees, customers and everyone.

Help Requested For Business Owners Affected By Gas Explosion In Greenwood District

Fremont Rotary Club Past-President Jean Withers sent out a request for help for the 36 businesses affected by the natural gas explosion in the Greenwood business district. The Phinney Neighborhood Association (PNA) has set up an on-line fundraiser, so that we can make tax-deductible donations for people affected by the explosion. 100% of the money raised will go directly to the relief efforts.
