Emerald City Insulator Show at B.F. Day on March 12th

The 22nd Annual Emerald City Insulator/Bottle Collector’s Show (and Potluck) will take place on Saturday, March 12th, in the gym at B.F. Day Elementary School (3921 Linden Ave N). Collectors and distributors of these unique items will be on-hand, starting at 10a, to display, sell and trade with the general public.

MS Pub Crawl Staggers Through Fremont on March 12th

The annual pub crawl to raise money for Multiple Sclerosis research, in the form of donations to Molly Johnston’s team in the MS Walk on April 3rd, will take place on Saturday, March 12th, with kick-off at 4p at the Red Door, and the raffle drawing at 7p at The Ballroom.

North Transfer Station Remodel Open House Rescheduled

The dates for the public open house/stakeholders workshops have been rescheduled. The opportunity for the public, in addition to the members of the project’s community stakeholders, to view the conceptual floor plans, cost information, architectural elevations and “flyover” simulations for the final five remodel concepts under consideration for the North Seattle Transfer Station have been rescheduled for Monday, March 7th and Monday, March 14th. The two public viewings will still be held at the offices of the Institute for Systems Biology (at 837 N 34th St.)

Fremont Place Books Closing Sale

On Sunday, February 27th, from Noon – 6p, Henry Burton invites everyone to stop by Fremont Place Books (a.k.a. Fremont Place Book Company) to celebrate 22-years of books and bookselling, and to say good-bye to it all. Additionally, he hopes book lovers, bargain shoppers, and shopkeepers will come in to buy up the inventory, office supplies and furnishings.

OAR NW Adventurers To Appear At Seattle Boat Show

Now at the Seattle Boat Show, at Qwest Field Event Center, through Sunday, January 30th, will be four men who plan to cross the Atlantic Ocean in a 29-foot rowboat starting in December 2011. Atlantic Ocean Rowing Race veterans Greg Spooner and (Fremonster) Jordan Hanssen, Olympic Gold Medalist Adam Kreek, and former UW rower Richard Tarbill will be available from 10a – 8p each day of the Boat Show to answer questions about their experiences, and plans.

Luc & The Lovingtons To Play At Nectar on Jan 6th

On January 6th, local band Luc & The Lovingtons return to perform at Nectar Lounge (412 N 36th) after their incredibly successful tour with Grammy award winner Jason Mraz. Mraz chose the band as his opening act for a portion of his national tour after first encountering their hit, “The Freedom Song.” The band and Mraz also performed the song at the Freedom Awards, in November 2010, as sponsored by Free The Slaves.
