Less than two weeks left to the Fremont Arts Council Solstice Parade, and a stroll past the Powerhouse (3940 Fremont Ave N) will offer plenty of opportunities to, “Here, hold this!”

Seattle Parks and Recreation will host a final community meeting on renovation of the Ross Play Area on Monday, May 23, 2011 from 6:30 – 8 p.m. at the Ross Shelterhouse (4320 4th Ave. NW.)
This Saturday, May 21st, two work parties will take place in Fremont – near in location but very different in what they need doing. The Troll’s Knoll and History House need warm bodies, and willing hands, to get bea-u-ti-ful for summer!
On Saturday, May 14th, starting at Noon, volunteers are needed to help with the pre-parade, as the Fremont Arts Council (FAC) shifts float bodies from winter storage to the art studio. On Tuesday, May 17th, visit the Artists’ Reception, at the Fremont Abbey at 7p, to see the floats for the 2011 Solstice Parade. And, on May 21st, attend the Grand Opening of the Solstice Parade build, at the Powerhouse (3940 Fremont Avenue North) at Noon.
On Friday, April 30th, the B.F. Day Elementary School library hosted an art show that gave students, staff, families and the community a chance to see the collection of paintings and mixed-media work commissioned by Windermere Realty – and created by students.
This Saturday, May 7th, the Fremont Abbey Arts Center will host the Upper Fremont Festival of the Arts (a.k.a. UFFA!) This will be an open-to-the-public, mostly free, celebration with plenty of entertainment for all ages, as well as demonstrations, live music, visual art, and giveaways! Stop by to see what the excitement is all about, at our very own community center!
On Friday, April 29th, from Noon – 2p, a very special art show will take place in Fremont. In the library of B.F. Day Elementary School (3921 Linden Ave N) will be displayed paintings – on canvas – done by students, and commissioned by Windermere Realty.
On Saturday, May 7th, starting at 1p, the Fremont Abbey Arts Center – Fremont’s homegrown ‘community center’ – will host the 3rd Annual micro-neighborhood festival in Upper Fremont, for everyone who loves a party!
