Starting today, June 3rd, all citizens ages 11 and up can vote on-line (or on paper ballots available at community centers and Seattle Public Library branches,) for Street & Parks projects.
This year marks a major milestone for The Lake Washington Ship Canal, The Fremont Bridge and The Ballard Locks. One hundred years ago these significant Seattle landmarks officially opened – and this summer, we all want to celebrate these transportation and maritime triumphs!
On Tuesday, March 28th from 5:30p – 7:30p, at the Fremont Branch Library, the City of Seattle will host the final meeting in the ‘Project Development Phase of Your Voice, Your Choice.’ This is an opportunity to see which public works projects will be funded from the $2 million Street & Parks Funds.
Seattle Parks Superintendent Jesus Aguirre approved the name, based on recommendations from the Parks Naming Committee and public submissions. The Committee officially chose Troll’s Knoll Park for our park due to the common usage of this name by our community and because of the park’s proximity to our sculpture.
The construction on the newly rebuilt North Transfer Station has nearly completed, and the adjacent open space on Woodlawn as well as a recreational area at Carr Place built in conjunction have completed.
