Kirby has been in Fremont for a lifetime, as a resident, employee, employer, and playmate. She's served on the Fremont Chamber of Commerce, the Fremont Neighborhood Council and the Fremont Arts Council, and can be seen wandering the Center of the Universe year 'round. When it comes to Fremont, she likes to say she's full of it!

Construction on the new North Seattle Transfer Station (the Dump) is rounding a corner, according to the Seattle Public Utility. After a summer spent demolishing and excavating the former transfer station site, this fall expect to see more positive progress.
Due to closures of the Fremont Bridge this weekend and next, Sep 6th & 7th, and Sep 13th & 14th, for painting, METRO has planned re-routes for busses that normally travel this corridor.
On Tuesday, September 9th, from 5p – 7p, neighbors and Gas Works Park users are encouraged to attend the second public meeting on the use of 2008 Parks & Green Spaces Levy money to make improvements to the existing play area of the Park.
