Rotary Fundraisers On-Going & Upcoming!

The Rotary Club of Fremont members continue to sell raffle tickets to raise money for their many wonderful projects. For $30, take a chance to win a cruise to Alaska (makes a great gift!,) plus $600 cash. The raffle ticket drawing will be held Tuesday, June 14th at their weekly meeting. On Thursday, June 16th, from 5:30p – 7:30p, the Fremont Rotary will hold a benefit to eradicate malaria, at Fremont Studios. Tickets cost $20 per person (cash or check only,) with 100% of the tax-deductible donation going to buy mosquito nets for Zambia.

‘Beyond Naked’ Documentary Launches A Kickstarter Campaign

Fremonster and film director Dan McComb has been collecting interviews and information this spring on the scene-stealing opening act of the Solstice Parade – the painted cyclists. His film, titled ‘Beyond Naked’, now has a campaign running on Kickstarter to solicit donations to help complete what promises to be a lighthearted, and well-researched, look at the history, dilemmas and fascination naked bicyclists have incited.

B.F. Day Art Opening & Display

On Friday, April 29th, from Noon – 2p, a very special art show will take place in Fremont. In the library of B.F. Day Elementary School (3921 Linden Ave N) will be displayed paintings – on canvas – done by students, and commissioned by Windermere Realty.

Fremont Eateries Participate in Dining Out For Life

Thursday, April 28th, will be the 18th year of Dining out for Life, an easy (and yummy!) fundraiser for fighting illness, and hunger, by supporting Lifelong AIDS Alliance. Fremont restaurants – Blue Moon Burgers, Caffe Vita, Costas Opa, Kylie’s Chicago Pizza, Ponti Seafood Grill and Tutta Bella – will participate in 2011.

Help Rotary, And Win A Trip for 2 To Alaska

The Rotary Club of Fremont has launched a fundraiser, to support their local and international service projects. Throughout the month of May, 2011, members of the Rotary Club will be selling raffle tickets for a donation of $30 (or 4 for $25 each,) for a grand prize of a cruise for two to Alaska, along with $600 in spending money.

A Dance Concert For a Slave-Free World, This Weekend!

On Friday, April 15th and Saturday, April 16th, at 7:30p, turn out to support efforts to fight human trafficking – and enjoy a show of artistic beauty and stunning talent at the same time. At the Fremont Abbey Arts Center, in the Grand Hall, the Karin Stevens Dance company and the rock band JUBILEE will perform together on a show called The New Abolitionist Movement: A Dance Concert For A Slave-Free World.
